COUNCILMAN CURREN D. PRICE
RECOGNIZED FOR PROMOTING
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT
Inglewood District One Councilman, Curren D.
Price, Jr., was honored for his leadership in
promoting Economic Empowerment and Community
Involvement. The Legacy Award was presented
to Councilman Price at the Legacy Award and Gospel
Musical, Black History Month Celebration.
The event took place at First Church of God Center
of Hope, in Inglewood.
Councilman Price
was joined in this distinguished category of
prominent figures who will be honored for their
accomplishment sin using their life's work to
educate and lead the cause in promoting economic
stability through job creation, business
development affordable housing and healthcare, was
Larry Grant, Found and Director of the Los Angeles
Kingdom Day Parade; Marin "Smith" Smith,
Member of the Jay Leno "Tonight Show"
Band; Bishop George L. Dixon, Advocate for
Affordable Housing and Healthcare for the Elderly;
Danny Bakewell, Publisher of the Los Angeles
Sentinel Newspaper; Paulette Simpson-Gibson,
Executive .P, Coalition of Black Trade Unionist
Region 10; Manuel G. Grace, Esq., Sr., P and
Counsel tot he Walt Disney Company, Patricia
Means, President and Founder of Turning Point
Magazine; Willie Morrow, Founder of the California
Curl Black Hair Product Company.
Gospel musical
star, Grammy Awards Nominee and Winner of Six
Stellar Awards, TONEX, performed live
"unplugged and full of the Holy Ghost",
to make this one of the most exciting and
memorable Black History Month celebrations of the
year.
