ISSUE ONE: LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT (LAX)
The Issue
The Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is
one of the most dynamic entities in the world. It is always moving,
lively and expanding. For our community this fact is not always
good. Noise, traffic, community wear-and-tear and general
expansion are issues for us. These issues must be confronted
directly.
My Stance
LAX must be contained and must not be allowed
to operate without regard to the citizens of our community. I am
committed to a strong, constant and sometimes confrontational voice
regarding noise, traffic, community wear-and-tear and LAX expansion.
The Future
- Build on the sound-proofed buildings that we
have completed
- Complete the buildings that have been tapped
for sound proofing
- Expand the buildings eligible for sound
proofing
Make sure we get our fare share of additional sound proofing funds
- Stay in constant contact with local governments
and LAX regarding expansion
- Solicit community reports from local governments
and LAX
- Ensure adequate compensation for those
displaced
- Make every aspect of LAX expansion subject
to community involvement
- KEEP ALL MATTERS WITH LAX HONEST AND IN
